The most listened to radio station in England is BBC Radio 2, followed by Radio 4 then Radio 1, with the average person listens to the radio just under 16 hours a week. Another popular radio station set up which recently became mainstream in 2008 is galaxy, this station covers 6 regions including: Birmingham, Manchester, North East, South Coast, Scotland, Yorkshire as well as the rest of the UK via digital radio. A restricted service license (RSL) is a license granted to radio and television stations to allow them to broadcast within the UK to serve communities and the like.
